Subject: Blowing Up The World Event

Took Friday off to pack for BUTW. Good move on my part, it took essentially all day, and I only forgot my rifle stand, and a knife.
Blew up the world good and proper and we learned many useful things:

A few ounces of Tannerite will blow a 9 in hole in a target board, fortunately, down low where no one puts targets anyway.

Colliers cannon works really well, shoots quite straight, and got a hit just a few inches from the head of a human silhouette at 200 yds. The hole is approximately the same size as the head.

Bomberos, the pumpkin gun, can throw a bowling ball to within 100 yards of the brow of the hill using an 8 foot barrel extension and a sabot. Unfortunately, Jim Phillips' shot caused the extension to fail. Fortunately we have the whole thing on video. Spectacular. Also the grass in the 4-800 yard range is going to seed right now, and you DON'T really want to walk through it without hip waders. It's about 12 in high, which means that 10 in bowling balls are really hard to find.

Tried the mortar and gasoline trick, which is to load the mortar with powder mixed with Titanium chips, and a pop can half full of gasoline in an attempt to produce a fireball and mushroom cloud. Made a nice spout of flame which went out very quickly. Much less powder and more gas is indicated. Research will continue.

Gomez brought his newly tricked-out Savage .308 tack driver, which either needs one more trick, or larger tacks, from what I've heard. Didn't see the action, so can't comment intelligently, hence this. Perhaps Gomez could enlighten us.

Judy got lessons with a variety of handguns. Did well with my .357.
Comment from Judy?

Masons church group showed up about 2 PM and joined the fun. We all got
along well, comparing notes, guns, etc.

I'll be sending pics to Mason, who will be putting them on the WHAC
website at www.wildlifehunters.com
